Frank Smith, MD, is a Marjory J. Johnson Endowed Chair and professor of pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and director of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Prior to joining Cincinnati Children’s in 2001, Dr. Smith was Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology, as well as an investigator at the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Smith is a specialist in the field of acute myeloid leukemia. A widely published researcher and respected national leader in pediatric hematology/oncology, Dr. Smith currently serves as vice chair of the Children’s Oncology Group; a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cell Therapy (FACT); and a member of the National Institutes of Health PDQ Pediatric Cancer Treatment Advisory Board.
Dr. Frank Smith received his MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida and fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
